Description
The Congregation of the Sisters of Charity (CSC) is a religious congregation for women in the status of Pontifical Right in the Syro Malabar Catholic Church which received the patrimony of faith from St. Thomas the Apostle. It was founded on 21st November 1944 by the Venerable Fr. Augustin John Ukken (1880- 1956) at Chowannur in the Syro-Malabar Archdiocese of Trichur. Since it’s inception CSC has flourished in its missions to all the marginalized by kindling the hearts of many with the fire of Love. In 1995 the Congregation was raised to the status of Pontifical Right. Presently it has three provinces, spread in various Dioceses in India and Abroad
